Geraldine Roberts is Managing Director Of Benny Roberts Communication Services and administator of Youth Connection Network.
Where did it all begin ?
Pastor Benny Roberts is the only son of John and Elizabeth Roberts. He was born in a coloured township, Kensington and grew up in a poorer part of Cape Town called Factreton. He is the on ly son and grew up with four sisters. (Jennifer, the eldest, passed away in 2004). He became a nightclub deejay at the age of 16 and went on to become a fulltime nightclub disc jockey at an international Chinese prostitution underground nightclub. In his last five years as a nightclub deejay, he worked Monday to Monday from 8 pm – 5pm and were very stressed out because of the lifestyle that went with it.
He never grew up in a religious home and when He accepted Jesus as Lord and saviour, he immediately turned his back on his previous lifestyle. In 1997 after receiving Christ as Lord and saviour at a factory were he worked, he was introduced to a pastoral couple who introduced him to Rhema Bible School teachings. In the same year he started a youth ministry, A.C.M and in no time they grew and became a much wanted youth ministry in Factreton. He left Cape Town for mission in the Boland, Wellington, Paarl and started a prison ministry with an American missionary, Rev. Dave Bliss who accepted him at the Andrew Murray Centre in Wellington.
In his firsts year he was used by God to be evangelistic and for about two years, he introduced prisonesrs to Jesus Christ. He helped prisoners and introduced them to the gospel on a daily basis.
He became director of associate training and staff and later had the responsibilty to train people in fulltime ministy. During these years he worked with visitors from all the corners of the earth and introduced them to the Cape Province cultures and Biblicall undestandings.
His only ministry focus and teachings has always been Biblcal and non denominational.
He later left for Cape Town and with two friends, Ryan and Geraldine (now his wife), started an outreach minisry called JAMM(Jesus active Missions Ministries).
Pastor Benny and Geraldine has worked in many youth and maximum prisons, High schools, farms and Informal setllements. He always walked alone, although he many times over the years tried to get support for his vision from churches, but were never succesful. He also worked with communities, by doing counselling and youth motivational presemtations in Cape Town and The Boland. He preached in most denominations, Dutch reform, penticostal, Anglican, Methodist and Charismatic churches over the firsts five years (1999 – 2004).
He also joined a newly formed radio station in 2003, Radio K.C in Paarl and became H.R and programs manager. During this period he presented the Breakfast show (Wakey Wakey), Bennys Boland Breakfast a very popular slot. His Sunday four hour spiritual and inspirations program, Divine Moments went on to become the most poular popular program the station ever had up to this date. He was program manager and on the air 19 hours per week for 18 months before he left the station and went back to find his true calling by seeking the face of God. With his wife Geraldine, they went through desert periods for years and struggled to make ends meet. They did missions outreach for seven years without a regular income and many days cried out before the Lord. Churches never supported what they did. He went on to live in Kraaifontein and in 2004 joined CCFM radio for the second time. The previous time he spend at the station were seven months. That was when the station had a joint licence with another Christian radio station, Radio Tygerberg.
He went back to CCFM a few years after they got their permanent licence and is on this radio station with highly popular Sunday programs Sundays at 2pm. He also ministers on the radio station on Wednesdays between 6 – 9 pm. The station is on 107.5 fm and can be heard by listeners in and around Cape Town.
After years of struggle, he joined a newspaper, Northern Bulletin as a freelance journalist, he was then asked to become the marketing director. Over the years he went to different marketing and presentation courses including the well known Andrew Carnegie courses. He is an experienced radio producer, presenter and broadcasting engineer. He is also in demand a a Bible teacher, evangelist, motivational speaker and MC.
With his wife Geraldine, he started a very succesfull Kingdom business called Benny Roberts Communication Services and believed the Lord told him to do his business within the Kingdom. He serves the body of Christ as an entrepeneur, marketer and consultant.
Benny Roberts Communiacation Services gave birth to 'Image Builders, Aan die BRRR concerts, Aan die BRRR promotions and he plans to start a mentoring school by the end of 2007.
His wife, Geraldine, is a soft spoken focused women of God. She is the managing director of all operations. She is very strong in accounting and organising.
